ICSI (INTRACYTOPLASMIC SPERM INJECTION)

ABOUT THE SERVICE

ICSI for horses addresses fertility challenges, especially with hypo-fertile stallions or those with suboptimal semen quality. This technique involves directly injecting a single sperm into an egg, providing a targeted solution for male fertility issues in equine breeding.

We enable the use of premium semen, broadening stallion options for our clients. Our network includes prestigious stud farms, offering diverse selections. We accommodate clients bringing their own stallion’s semen, ensuring personalized service.

The process begins with aspirated and washed oocytes transported to specialized ART laboratories for maturation. During ICSI, a micromanipulator precisely injects a sperm into a mature egg. Approximately 60% of follicles result in fertilized eggs.

Fertilized eggs undergo incubation for 7-10 days, monitored for successful embryo development. Embryos are then stored in liquid nitrogen indefinitely.

CONDITIONS

If one decides to bring their own approved stallion’s semen for ICSI, it is important to note that only semen with an official certificate (TRACES) can be used for the programme. This pertains exclusively to individuals opting to provide their own semen for their equines. Prior to this consideration, it is essential to note that if you select semen from the offerings listed on the website, you do not need to take these steps.
