EMBRYO TRANSFER
ABOUT THE SERVICE
Embark on a journey of precision and care with our Embryo Transfer services at Scuderia SA Embryo Clinic & Laboratories. Frozen embryos, originating from OPU/ICSI procedures or from one’s own collection, can be implanted either in the donor mare or a recipient mare, offering a versatile and customizable approach to equine reproductive strategies. Additionally, the option to rent recipient mares is available for enhanced flexibility.
HOW DOES EMBRYO TRANSFER WORK?
Our dedicated team closely monitors the cycles of our recipient mares, ensuring optimal timing for implantation, precisely 4 days after ovulation. Each mare receives a single course of a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug during the procedure. A rectal ultrasound scan on the 8th to 10th day after transfer provides insight into the pregnancy’s progression, with a subsequent check on the embryos’ heartbeat between days 20-28.
There is a minimal chance of developing identical twins in 1% of embryos created by ICSI.
On the 45th day of gestation, the embryo is beyond the early, more critical stage of its life, and the pregnancy is confirmed.
