EMBRYO FLUSHING
ABOUT THE SERVICE
Embryo flushing of mares is a non-surgical trans-cervical technique, which is characterized by its minimal invasiveness and high tolerability. Typically conducted at day seven or eight post-ovulation for immediate transfer or chilling, this process balances efficiency with the robustness of recovered embryos. Experience the intricacies of embryo freezing at Scuderia SA Embryo Clinic & Laboratories, where our technology ensures preservation through a vitrification technique.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF VITRIFICATION?
In vitrification, the solution that houses the oocyte or embryo safeguards the cells against damage caused by freezing. The rapid cooling ensures that water molecules within the cells cannot develop harmful ice crystals, instantly transforming into a glass-like structure. Once frozen, these invaluable embryos find secure storage in marked straws immersed in liquid nitrogen, guaranteeing their preservation for extended periods, spanning years. An alternative option involves the immediate transplantation of the embryos without undergoing freezing. However, this approach necessitates timing, requiring the availability of 2-3 recipient mares at our facility precisely at the appropriate stage of their reproductive cycle.
